Since a young age Noel have always shown avid interest in the goings on in the international musical scene. At the same time he always felt the need that the local talent should be given a push on national and international level, precisely by the introduction of an event that shows the much desired recognition for the efforts and initiative taken to promote Malta and Gozo through music.
Together with Alfie Fabri, a well known TV and DJ presenter, the first edition of the Malta Music Awards was established in 1995. This first effort was given an encouraging welcome by the Maltese public and local artists. Ever since, The Malta Music Awards became an established and much awaited event. Carlo Borg Bonaci, a board member has since teamed up with Noel to organise an ever bigger and demanding event.
In the year 2001, a large scale Music Awards was organised together with The Heineken Jammin’ Festival. A year later, The Free Music Festival was held in Ta’ Qali. Both Festivals attracted large crowds with the participation of top local acts and foreign guests artists.
Noel was also a Board member in the Maltasong Board in 2002 for two years. At the time, Malta placed second in the Euro Song Festival and ninth the following year.
In 2006 and 2007 Noel was also one of the organisers of The XFM Music Festival at Gianpula.
Noel also organised various concerts and brought over well renowned DJ’s to perform on the island.
